The International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) is one of the world’s leading non-governmental organizations on health informatics and digital health. It is recognized by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). In light of the rapid technological and economic development of the Asia-Pacific region in the 90’s, IMIA established the Asia Pacific Association for Medical Informatics (APAMI) in 1994 as the official Asia-Pacific regional group within IMIA. APAMI represents an extension of IMIA’s global interests in promoting Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) in health. Here in the Philippines, APAMI and IMIA are officially represented by the Philippine Society for Digital Health (PSDH).

For 2024, the Philippines has been given the honor of hosting the 13th Biennial Conference of the Asia Pacific Association for Medical Informatics or APAMI2024. The conference, hosted by the Philippine Society for Digital Health and the UP Manila Standards and Interoperability Lab (UPM SILab) will be held on October 1-2, 2024 at the University of the Philippines Bonifacio Global City (UP BGC) campus, Taguig, Philippines.

With the theme, “Game Changers in Digital Health,” APAMI 2024 will gather professionals from across the region representing governments, development partners, non-government organizations, academia, and professional societies. It provides an opportunity for different stakeholders to share expertise, best practices, and challenges in the field of health informatics.
